Jodi Benson's 'Little Mermaid' Mocked Amid Halle Bailey's 1st Look as Ariel

The world finally got a glimpse of what Halle Bailey looked like in "The Little Mermaid" remake, but it was ruined by the power of social media.

The deal is here. While most everyone was in awe of the first look at Halle under the sea, some couldn't help but compare her to the original voice actor who played the character back in '89.

There was more mockery, including a picture of Halle's Ariel next to the animated one, and the fact that the cartoon had zero awards. At the time, 'The Little Mermaid' won a number of awards.

They are besmirching the work that was done by Jodi.

Someone was trying to create drama between these two people.

The person who grabbed this is trying to make it look like it was posted in response to the trailer, but that's not the case.

As they tried to shut down the anti-Jodi narrative built around Halle's casting, a few people on the bird app noted that she had been supportive. We can't celebrate each woman's take.

Halle, who's Black, was cast at all in this role, and now, this response seems to be extreme at the expense of Jodi.
