Warwick Davis is returning as the Nelwyn dwarf sorcerer in the new Disney+ series Willow.

In its day, the 1988 fantasy film was not appreciated as much as it is today. The new fantasy series, set decades after the events of the first film, is a bet on the nostalgia of Disney+. The official trailer was shown at D23 expo.

The story of a child with a rune birthmark who was prophesied to bring about the downfall of the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda was told in the originalWillow. A village of little people found a child on a raft in the water. A group of people were led to a community of people called Daikini to raise a child. There were many amazing adventures.

Despite mixed reviews, the film made $138.6 million at the box office, even though it didn't become a blockbuster. The idea of a sequel series was discussed by Lucas and Davis as early as 2005, but Disney+ didn't give the project the go-ahead until October 2020.

The series looks promising. There are positive signs, one of which is that Warwick Davis is coming back as the dwarf sorcerer. The official synopsis states that the series is "an epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility set in an enchanted land of breathtaking beauty." The thing continues.

The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness. Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.

Sorsha, the daughter of the defeated Queen Bavmorda from the original film, is back as well as the return of Davis. Kevin Pollak reprises his role as the brownie Rool. Val Kilmer couldn't return as Madmartigan because he was recovering from throat cancer. The panelists told us that Christian Slater will be joining the cast as a friend of the swordsman. Madmartigan will be present.

The new characters include a servant named Jade, who is training to become a warrior, a daughter of Sorsha, and a kitchen maid named Dove. The character played by Tony Revolori is a queen and mother, and he is joined by other characters. Two people have been cast in unknown roles.

"You think you know what's real and what's not," the trailer says. Light and dark. Don't remember all you know. You should come with me. Cut to Sorsha talking about willow. The world needs the magic of the sorcerer, so she sent Kit to look for him. They will be led beyond the edge of our world into the unknown. The forces of evil are beingrallied by a nameless enemy. The only thing that stands in his way is us.

Pollak's short appearance as Rool was the highlight for me. The narrative of the first movie was mimed by him as he was delighted to see his old pal again. A person is running. There are horses. There was a lot of chaos! There was a lot of chaos! It was a happy kissy ending. That's how it sums it up. It appears that the series will serve up more of the same.

On November 30, 2022, Disney+ will have a new show called "Willow".

There is a Disney+ listing.
