After being driven into the ground by the Tide's Turner, Ewers will not return to the game.
Sources told Pete that Ewers was taken to the locker room for an X-ray after he injured his ankle. When he came back to the sideline, he was wearing street clothes.
Turner was flagged for roughing the passer after landing on Ewers and the official said it was because he drove Ewers into the ground.
After the hit, Ewers grabbed his left shoulder and stayed down on the field while Gary and the trainers attended to him. Ewers went to the medical tent before heading to the locker room.
He had kept Alabama on its heels, going 9 of 12 for 134 yards, and had just completed a 46-yard pass to the Alabama 1-yard line.
Bijan Robinson scored on the first play of the second quarter to tie Alabama at 10.
Ewers, a transfer from Ohio State, made his first collegiate start last week against Louisiana-Monroe and went 16 of 24 for 225 yards and two touchdown and one pick up.
