A three-year contract extension has been reached between the Las Vegas Raiders and their tight end.
Walker's agent said that the negotiations were one of the most challenging. A 30-year-old player with two years left on his contract is very rare to get a new deal.
The Raiders have a five-year contract with Waller. He didn't have a guaranteed amount of money left on the extension he signed in 2019. In the next two seasons, he was going to make $7 million.
He had 90 catches for 1,145 yards and three touchdown, when he was 30 years old. In 2020 he had 1,196 yards and 11 touchdown. Only Kansas City's Travis Kelce has more yards and catches for a tight end in the league since he became a starter in 2019.
Injuries to his ankle, knee, and back limited him to 11 games last year. He wasn't at training camp because of an injury. He hasn't practiced since August 17 because of a hamstring injury, but he is expected to play in the season opener.
The new deal came after he parted ways with Klutch Sports.
