Over the last several years, there has been a run of solid, mostly single player games starring heavy hitter comic book characters. Skydance New Media is run by Amy Hennig, the writer behind Legacy of Kain and the Uncharted trilogy, and they are working on a game for the comic book company. The game in question is a WWII action-adventure starring Black Panther and a young Captain America.
The game has both heroes working together and going on a globetrotting adventure to fight HYDRA and the Nazis. The man who wears the mantle of the Panther in this game isn't T'Challa, but his grandpa, created in the comics by Roy Thomas and Dave Hoover. For fans of comic books, the setup here will be familiar to the Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers comic book series. The heroes fought Hitler and the Nazis in order to win the war.
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created a Black Howling Commando called Gabriel Jones, who joined Cap and Azzuri on their journey. The first Captain America film featured Jones as a character. The character of Nanali, created by Thomas and Hoover, hasn't been seen in the comics in a long time.
There is a friendly relationship between Captain America and Black Panther in the media, the two have been on the same team multiple times in the comics, and each Panther has a deep respect for the Captain. Before Steve was presumed to be dead and was held captive in space, he was a good friend of T'Challa. Who doesn't remember that Steve was Black Panther in the ULTIMATE MARVEL universe?
Is it a single player affair or a co-op affair? It is definitely an interesting pitch for a game.
