The death of Queen Elizabeth II led to the ascension of King Charles III to the British throne.
Putin wrote a letter to the king from the Kremlin.

Putin sent his sympathies to the king after learning of his death.
He wrote that Elizabeth II enjoyed the love and respect of her subjects, as well as authority on the world stage.
I wish you strength in the face of this loss. I want you to convey your sympathies to the members of the royal family and the people of Great Britain.
The British royal family has been steadfast in their support of Ukraine, which Russia invaded beginning in February, sparking a devastating conflict and sparking an international humanitarian crisis.
The United Kingdom is one of the founding members of the NATO organization.
