The days of King Viserys are coming to an end.
At some point in the show, he's going to die because his health has been bad since the first episode.
What is going on with the king? He had a sore back and his finger turned black.
We think we can figure it out.
Let's return to the beginning. In the first episode of House of the Dragon, we see the King Viserys sitting on a chair and having his back looked at.
One of the younger maesters said it was a wound that wouldn't heal. Is it possible that I suggest cauterization?
In the second episode of the show, the king is back in the maester's chair, this time with a badly injured finger.
"This is our best chance to save the digit, your grace," said the grand maester as he ponied the king's blackened pinkie into a bowel of wriggling grubs. The dead flesh will be removed and the rot stopped.
The king's health is not good, and the maesters don't know why. The clues were there from the start.

In the beginning of the show, the king sits with his shirt up and tells the maesters what he thinks is happening.
King Viserys said it was a small cut from the throne. It's not anything.
He makes it sound casual when it is serious. It sounds like nothing more than a king trying to brush off a weakness. His comment is cast in a new light later in the episode.
After the king dismissed his brother from the throne room, he lifted a hand to his head and noticed a drop of blood on his finger.
King Viserys' injuries are from the Iron Throne. The jagged edges are likely causing cuts that are then becoming infections, possibly leading to a condition called "necrotising fasciitis", which can cause blisters on the skin and require surgery to remove. If it isn't treated correctly, it can turn fatal.
Sitting on the Iron Throne is like a nightmare filled with enemies. It seems like King Viserys is being killed one cut at a time.
