The 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch form factors of previous generations of the iPhone did not include a display smaller than six inches. The "mini" device was popular with some iPhone customers.

After years of requests from fans, Apple launched the iPhone 12 mini in 2020 with the latest features. It was thought that the small form factor would last for several years, but it seems that the device has come to an end after the release of the iPhone 14 lineup.

According to data gathered by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, just six percent of iPhone 12 sales in the US in October and November were for the mini model. In the first half of January, the iPhone 12 mini accounted for five percent of all sales.

According to Morgan Stanley, Apple decided to cut production of the iPhone 12 mini by two million units in order to create more capacity for the more popular iPhone 12 Pro. The Taiwanese report said that Apple increased its supply of the more expensive devices due to strong demand for the iPhone 12 Pro in China.

According to JP Morgan Chase, Apple stopped production of the iPhone 12 mini in the second quarter of 2020.

The data suggests that the iPhone 13 mini accounted for less than half of the sales of the iPhone 12 mini. The demise of the "mini" form factor iPhone was likely due to poor sales.

The "mini" device has been replaced with an all-new "plus" device. The latest features of the iPhone are offered in a different display size in the Plus version of the phone. Instead of offering a lightweight small-screen option, customers can now choose an even bigger battery and larger display at a lower price point.
