A British Airways pilot told his passengers on a flight from Miami to London that the Queen had died

The pilot of the British Airways plane broke the news of the Queen's death. There was a news report.

The pilot can be heard informing passengers mid-air on a flight from Miami to London in a video taken by a passenger.

It's a sad day for all of us on British Airways. The pilot said that their thoughts were with the royal family.

She flew with us for many of her historically momentous trips since her accession to the throne.

The Queen visited the headquarters of British Airways as part of the airline's 100th anniversary celebrations.

The pilot said that many of the crew have fond memories of her travels. The pilot thanked the Queen for her service and held a moment of silence.

Buckingham Palace announced the death of the Queen on Thursday. King Charles III was declared the monarch on Saturday.

British Airways did not reply immediately.
