Mark Gurman reported that the tech giant filed a trademark in Jamaica because of its unusual laws. Why did Apple do this? Gurman said that you need to visit the country's trademark and patent office in order to search for trademarks.

He said that the application for the secret trademark was filed in New Zealand where it is "searchable online."

Tech companies usually get creative about where and how they file their trademark. According to Gurman, there are also names registered in foreign countries. The trademark application for the iPad was encased in shell companies. This is done to keep developments under wraps from competitors. Because they were filed globally, Apple's purported mixed-reality headset have popped up recently.

Apple took things a step further when it came to publicity for the Dynamic Island. The way in which the notch is cut into the screen has long been hated by people. Apple users were hopeful that the notch would one day disappear because of the various solutions found by the makers of the phones. Apple came up with a solution that no one saw coming, turning the notch into an island. Critics have complained about Apple's slow innovation.
