According to sources, the two best wide receiver on the team will not be with the team when they play the Bears.
Two people are expected to miss the game. Earlier in the week, Sitake said they would be game time decisions. Romney and Nacua were the majority of the returning receiving yards.
Nacua had an ankle injury and wore a boot during the win at South Florida. Romney missed the game with an injury and will not play Saturday.

The two were expected to be Jaren Hall's top targets in the years to come. Nacua scored two goals, including a 75-yard run on the first play, before he was hurt. Nacua was second on the team with six touchdown and finished with 800 receiving yards.
Romney has amassed 1,900 career receiving yards and 10 total touchdown in his five seasons at the school. Romney had 767 yards and six touchdown in the year 2020. He has an average of 16.2 yards per catch for his career.
The offensive line is the strength of the team and will be missed. In last year's loss to the Bears, the unit gained just 67 yards on 24 runs. The tailback from Cal had 135 yards and a touchdown in the first game against the Bulls.
Freshman Chase Roberts, redshirt freshman Kody Epps, and sophomore Keanu Hill will be the replacements for the departed receiver. The absence of Romney and Nacua could potentially highlight the strength of the tight end duo of junior Isaac Rex and junior Dallin Holker.
