Justice Neil Gorsuch says he's 'looking forward' to a report on the Supreme Court's investigation into the leak of the abortion draft opinion

A report on the investigation into the leaked draft opinion on the abortion rights case is expected from Associate Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

The 10th Circuit Bench and Bar Conference was told on Thursday that the chief justice had appointed an internal committee to investigate.

The leak of a draft Supreme Court majority opinion shocked the nation in May, a month before the final ruling in the case was due. The chief justice ordered the court marshal to investigate the leak.

The leak was denounced by Gorsuch during his remarks on Thursday, as reported by the WSJ.

"I hope we get to the bottom of this soon," he said.

The report won't be made public. Insider did not get a response from the Supreme Court's public information office.

The court was poised to overturn the landmark ruling on abortion, according to the draft opinion. The court's conservative justices decided to overturn it on June 24.
