After accusing Clinton and other Democratic officials of a "far-reaching conspiracy", a judge in Florida threw out Donald Trump's lawsuit against her.
In March, Trump sued Clinton, the Democratic National Committee and other officials, accusing them of being involved in an "unthinkable plot" to hurt his reputation.
The case was dismissed by the U.S. District Judge because his legal claims were not supported by any legal authority.
The lawsuit lacks substance and legal support it seeks to substitute with length, hyperbole, and the settlement of scores and grievances.
Middlebrooks, who was appointed by Bill Clinton, but said he had no conflict of interest with either him or Hillary, dismissed the ex-president's argument that he was too busy to bring the case.
The office of Trump has yet to respond to the request.
The problem with the amended complaint is that it is not about seeking any legal harm but about flaunting a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him.
The issues with Trump's lawsuit were that he made up fictitious parties in the lawsuit and had no grounds to bring the case in Florida because he lived in New York. Middlebrooks wrote that knowing that Florida is a state in the United States does not mean knowing that the actions of defendants will have consequences in Florida.
In his ruling, Middlebrooks suggested that Trump's attorneys could be disciplined for bringing the case. The law authorizing sanctions for attorneys was cited by the judge in his ruling. I have doubts about whether that standard is met here.
Hillary Clinton is being sued for allegedly maligning Trump's campaign.
Trump told the judge that he was too busy as president to file a lawsuit.
Clinton wants to shut down the lawsuit.
