The No. 3 sticker on the back of their helmets will be dedicated to the late teammate of theirs.

He was killed when he was hit by a dump truck. He was legally drunk when he died.

"I am devastated and at a loss for words with the passing of a dear friend and colleague," said the coach. After arriving in Pittsburgh, he became part of the family and was one of the hardest workers. Even though he was a great teammate, he was also a wonderful friend to many. I'm really sad.

He was the third-string quarterback behind Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph in Pittsburgh. He was expected to compete for the starting job when he was re-signed by the team.

Before he was killed, quarterbackMitch Trubisky hosted his teammates in Florida for a weekend of bonding and training.

"I spent your final moments with you and I can't help but think about how selfish you were in those moments," Claypool wrote. I can't thank you enough for making sure that everyone around you was ok. I want you to be what I aim to be.
