NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, the hub of the agency's crewed spaceflight efforts, also took to social media to pay homage.

In honor of the queen, the UK Space Agency changed its logo to a portrait. The European Space Agency mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The dawn of the space age was witnessed by Her Majesty when she met astronauts from NeilArmstrong to Tim Peake, who gave her a patch from his spacewalk.
Peake paid his respects to the queen on the social networking site. A lady. Ma'am, thank you for a lifetime of service. A sad day and our thoughts are with the royal family. rincipia is the name given to his mission aboard the International Space Station.

The private space sector has big names. I can't think of anyone else who personified duty like that. Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos sent his deepest sympathies to all of the Brits.
The founder of the Virgin Group of companies, Richard Branson, wrote a post titled "The queen redefined leadership."
"She lived a life of service, standing for the best of British values, providing grace and consistency in an ever-changing world, and I met her many times over the years," wrote Sir Richard. She was a great leader because of her calm demeanor, her astuteness and her great listening skills. She had a good sense of humor and was interested in the people she met.
