Elon Musk says he talked to Apple about iPhone 14's satellite features

Musk said that Apple and his company talked about satellite connections.

Apple isn't the first company to make a phone with satellite internet. Text messaging via satellite will be available in areas with weak or no reception. That will not be available this year. On the day before the Apple event, Huawei launched its Mate 50 lineup, which includes satellite-enabled texting. The U.S. doesn't sell devices from the Chinese company.

The first commercially available phone in the US with satellite will be the iPhone 14.

It's not clear if these "promising talks" are still going on or if they are just starting. The conversation doesn't seem to have ended despite the outcome.
