8:40 PM ET

Several fights broke out backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena where the news conference was to be held.

Dana White tried to keep the news conference going by showing the six fighters in twos. White canceled the event after Holland and Rodriguez spoke to reporters and fans in attendance.

White said in a media scrum that the fights started when Holland and Chimaev weren't fighting each other. The fights scheduled for the card are not in danger according to White.

White said it was a complete s---show.

Chimaev and Holland have been talking on social media for a long time.

People tried to separate Chimaev and Holland before Chimaev hit him with a front kick, according to sources. Chimaev was pulled away by Li Jingliang and a former fighter and MMA agent. White said that it was great that the man was there to help. Holland chased after the two who were separated, according to sources.

In the main event, Chimaev will face off against the man who beat him. According to sources, when members of Diaz's team saw Ghosn with Chimaev, they yelled at him, thinking he was part of Chimaev's team. Some members of Chimaev's team threw bottles at the other team.

According to White, Ghosn was hit in the head with some water bottles.

White said that if it wasn't for Tiki, they would have been in a lot of trouble. He wasn't on the team because he took a couple for the team.

White said that from now on news conferences will have more security and that the UFC will be better prepared for the weigh-ins. White said that nobody will be disciplined.

White said this is what they do. It's the business we're in. This is the sport of fighting. Things happen. Why were we not prepared for this? We didn't manage this better than we did. Next time, we will be better. It will not happen to us again.
