• Motorola has launched the new Edge 30 Ultra with a 200MP primary camera sensor.
  • The phone is the global variant of the Motorola X30 Pro that launched in China in August.
  • The company has also unveiled the Edge 30 Fusion and Edge 30 Neo.
  • Motorola is partnering with Pantone to help design new colorways for future smartphones, starting with the Neo.

Following the launch of the iPhone 14 by Apple, the company decided to launch its own device. The global version of the first phone with a 200MP camera has been unveiled.

The phone is similar to the X30 Pro. The 6.7-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display has a 144Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits of brightness. The primary rear sensor of the hole-punch selfies camera has a 60MP resolution.

The ISOCELL HP1 sensor is the one used for the 200MP camera. A 12.5MP image with a 2.56m resolution can be achieved with the use of the sensor. The 200MP resolution can be used for added detail.

At 30 frames per second, the sensor is capable of 8k video. A 50MP ultrawide/macro camera and a 12MP telephoto lens are included in the Edge 30 Ultra.

The phone comes in a 12/128GB configuration and is powered by the 8+ Gen 1 processor. The device has a cooling system for mobile game players.

Keeping the lights on is a 4610mAh battery that supports an impressive 125W charging, the same as the OnePlus 10T in the US. Users can expect a day's worth of power in just seven minutes, and the phone should last more than a day on a full charge, according to the company. The phone supports reverse and 50 watt wireless charging.

The Edge 30 Ultra is one of two lower end options. The latter is powered by the same processor as the Ultra but at a lower price. The S30 Pro was launched in China in August. It has a big display with a fast refresh rate on the front and a big array of cameras on the back. There's a 4,400mAh battery with 68W wired charging, 8 gigabytes of RAM, and 128 gigabytes of storage.

Cosmic Grey, Aurora White, Solar Gold, and Neptune Blue are the four attractive colors of the fusion.

The entry level option is the Edge 30 Neo. It's powered by the 695, but not the newer 6 Gen 1 It has a 64MP primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, 8 gigabytes of RAM, 128 gigabytes of storage, and a 4040mAh battery.

The device is available in a number of striking colors, including Aqua Foam, Very peri, Black Onyx, and Ice Palace. This is just the beginning of a multi-year partnership that will influence future smartphone designs using Pantone's color science, according to the company.

The Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion are available in Argentina, Brazil, and Europe for 899 and 599, respectively. Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia will be reached later. There is no word of a US launch.
