Frank Clark, a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, was sentenced to 40 hours of community service after pleading no contest to two counts of possession of an assault weapon.
When Clark returns to court early next year, he will have to prove that he completed his sentence.
He was arrested in March 2021, when he was pulled over while riding with another man in a vehicle that did not have a license plate. There was a weapon in the car and two loaded firearms.
Clark was pulled over for a code violation three months later and officers found a gun in his vehicle.
Clark went so far as to eliminate alcohol and red meat from his diet in order to get ready for the game. He admitted at a news conference that at some point you have to grow up and be an example for your children.
Clark had 412 sacks last year, his lowest total since his first season. During the regular season in Kansas City, he has 88 tackles and 1812 sacks.
