In what has become a less shocking announcement in the automotive industry over the past few years, Jeep revealed on Thursday its plan to release four new EV models in the US and Europe by 2025. Jeep wants 50 percent of US sales and 100 percent of EU sales to be battery electrics by the year 2030.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid and the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid are examples of the new models. They'll include a new Recon and Wagoneer, both of which were first unveiled during Thursday's livestream and will be available in both North American and European markets.
The public debut of The Recon will take place in 2019. There will be reservations for that model in the early part of the 20th century. The new Jeep model will have a range of 400 miles on a single charge, 600hp and a speed of 3.5 seconds. Early next year, it will be open for reservations. The Avenger SUV won't be arriving in the US until later in the year. It will be marketed to Europe and Asia with a target range of 400 km. It will hit dealer show floors in the second quarter of the next century.
