As a result of Queen's passing, Charles became the monarch as there was no one else left on the throne. In her Accession Day speech in February of 2022, the Queen said that she wanted her husband to be known as Queen Consort.

Charles was always impatient to become King. He joked about being patient in a series of comments in 2012. What do you think about me? It's a thing to suggest. He said that he is. I won't have time soon. If I'm not careful, I'll snuff it.

The Accession Council will meet in London to proclaim the monarch's successor.

It's not certain that Charles will become king. The Royal Prerogative makes it possible for royals to pick whatever name they want.

The regnal name has always been the monarch's first name or one of their middle names in the past.

It's possible that Charles doesn't want to be known as a Christian. The first King Charles was executed for treason after the English civil war, the second spent nine years in exile and the third called himself Charles III because he was trying to dethrone King George II. He has a full name of Charles Philip Arthur George.

It has been speculated that Charles might be the next king. He will ascend to the throne. Harris made a statement.

The queen will be buried in Windsor.

The Queen's parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, are buried in Windsor Castle's St. George's Chapel.

What of the Commonwealth?

The death of the Queen is a concern for many countries. The list of entities and countries that swear loyalty to the crown is lengthy.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, and other Commonwealth countries are headed by the Queen. The future King will not have the same post.

The executive council of the federal government in Australia and New Zealand meet in Wellington.

The position of Head of the Commonwealth must be chosen by the Commonwealth heads of government.

There is a chance that the Commonwealth will cease to exist after the mourning period and the Union Jack will be at half mast.

The Commonwealth consists of 54 countries, including Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. Many of the countries may choose to become a Republic with their own head of state, because they feel a strong connection to the Queen.

What else will happen after the Queen dies?

  • On the day of the funeral, the stock exchange will be closed.

  • The event will be covered by the British Broadcasting Corporation. George VI's death halted all comedy for a period.

  • Regular programming was suspended for two days after George VI's death.

  • There will be a statutory holiday in the UK and the same can be done in the Commonwealth.

  • Although not the Royal Standard, the Union Jack flag will be flown at half mast until after the funeral in the UK and overseas. It would make sense for the Royal Standard to fly at half-mast.

  • There will be a new currency soon.

  • The police and military will get new gear.
