The creation and spending of a political action committee controlled by Donald Trump is being investigated by a federal grand jury.
ABC News and The New York Times are reporting that witnesses have been subpoenaed by the grand jury in Washington, D.C.
After the 2020 presidential election, a political action committee was formed.
According to ABC, Trump and his allies have persistently pushed supporters to donate to the PAC, often using false claims about the 2020 election and soliciting donations to rebuke the multiple investigations into the former president.
CNBC asked a spokeswoman for Trump for comment on the reports.
