Apple's newest phones are the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which feature an updated front design, a new Main 48MP camera, and more.
There are more minor changes and news items in the new iPhones, and we've rounded them all up.
The all-white box that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max ship in is different from previous high-end "pro" phones. The new box color doesn't seem to have changed the experience of getting a new phone.
The True Tone flash on the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max can be up to two times brighter than previous generations.
Apple says on its website that the newAdaptive True Tone flash adjusts the pattern and intensity of nine LEDs depending on the focal length of the photo. Users can get up to 2x better low-light photos on the Main camera and up to 3x better low-light photos on the Ultra Wide camera using a combination of the new flash, larger lens, and more advanced image processing.
You might think that the Dynamic Island is only visually appealing to show relevant information with cool animations, but it's actually a fully interactive part of the display. The Dynamic Island can be tapped when music is playing to open the Music app. The Dynamic Island brings up a new interface at the top of the screen if a timer is running.
Touching the Dynamic Island when nothing is happening results in a small stretching animation for the pill shape.
The Cinematic Mode allows users to record videos of subjects and subtly blur the background. Apple's Cinematic Mode is now compatible with 4K HDR at 24 and 30 frames per second. Users can change the focus of a subject after recording a video in the Photos app.
Car crash detection is built into the new Apple Watches and the models of the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro. There is a new feature that can detect if a user has been in a car crash. The new high g-force accelerometer on the iPhone 14 can detect up to 128 Gs of acceleration or deceleration. The barometer can be used to detect changes in pressure, as well as more sensitive microphones that can detect extreme sound while a person is driving.
The first 5G iPhones were only available in the United States.
