Brian Windhorst said that the Bulls aren't ready to cash in on Patrick Williams' trade value.

According to Windhorst, the Bulls believe a lot in Williams and view him as a possible two-way "core player" in the future.

There have been concerns about the Bulls' ceiling since the beginning of last year. They may not have assembled a championship-caliber roster despite the fact that they improved by adding DeMar, Alex, and Lonzo.

Without Ball, Chicago could have a hard time opening the season.

The veteran point guard had surgery in January for a knee injury and missed the rest of the year. The recovery period was supposed to be six to eight weeks, but it has been longer than that. Ball is "doubtful" to be cleared in time for the team's opener due to his left knee injury, according to a report.

The uncertainty surrounding Ball could raise the Bulls' desperation and force them to make an aggressive move, and Williams would be a good choice to go in that scenario.

The 6'7" forward has battled injuries, but has shown promise. The Los Angeles Lakers star described him as having "Kawhi-type hands" on the other side of the floor.

Who knows which star around the league will start to want to leave the team that Williams is on. Chicago believes in the 2020 first-round pick.
