The largest college football coaching contract in history was agreed to by the coach of the team.
The contract runs through the 2031 football season and averages $11.5 million over the course of 10 years. Alabama coach Nick Saban, who recently got a raise and extension that will pay him $10.7 million this season, will make $10.5 million in 2022.
He will make an average of $11.7 million per year over the next 17 years. Georgia coach Kirby Smart signed a 10-year, $112 million contract in July.
The College Football Playoff era has seen six of the eight national championship wins by the three coaches.
Entering his 15th season as the head coach of the Tigers, he has won two national titles and seven Atlantic Coast Conference titles. In the first 15 seasons of a head-coaching career, Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops have both won more than 150 games.

If he leaves for another college team, he will owe $6 million in the year 2022, and $9 million in the year 2022, according to the term sheet. If he left for an NFL job, he wouldn't owe anything. Every year, the number of buyouts decreases.
