Four people were killed and at least three others were wounded in a shooting spree in Memphis.

Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn "CJ" Davis said that Kelly was taken into custody after he crashed the stolen car he was driving. Multiple felony charges are pending against the alleged murderer.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland said during a press briefing that Kelly was charged with attempted first-degree murder but had it reduced to a lesser crime. He was released eleven months after he was sentenced.

The warrant for Kelly's arrest on the charge of first-degree murder was approved on Wednesday, before he went on a shooting spree.

Numerous felony charges are pending and the homicide division is actively working these crime scenes.

At least four people were killed and at least three others were injured during Kelly's all day shooting spree.

One of the killings was broadcast on Facebook. Kelly walked into an autozone and fired two shots at a man in the store.

There are at least eight crime scenes. The investigation is still in its early stages. There could be more than one location. There may be more damage in other places. The police chief said that Kelly shot at the store on Jackson Avenue.

The suspect is accused of carjacking two drivers at gun point as he tried to evade police. He escaped in a Dodge Challenger he stole and left behind an SUV that had been taken from a woman he had killed earlier that night.

"I want to assure the public that we're all going to be working together to try to curb this violence here in Memphis andShelby County."
