The head of the country's safety and security committee said that fans travelling to the World Cup will not be allowed to bring alcohol for personal consumption into the country.

The supreme committee in charge of the tournament has agreed to make beer, which will be provided by the World Cup, despite the fact that alcohol is not allowed in public in the country.

Bars in Moscow ran out of beer as fans from all over the world partied in the Russian capital.

Fans will not be allowed to bring their own booze and alcohol will only be available in designated areas, according to the authorities.

Colonel Jassim Abdulrahim Al Sayed of the safety and security operations committee said there were specific measures. Alcohol will not be allowed at the airport.

The tournament's main fan fest will only serve alcohol after 6:30 pm, despite some games starting earlier in the day.

The areas that have been given permission to serve drinks should be consumed by fans.

There is a misconception about the sale of alcohol in stadiums. The World Cup is the same as any other.

We have always said that alcohol can be sold in specific zones in the country.

There will be a lot of families and children at the fan fest, so we want to give them the chance to be alcohol-free during certain times of the day. Fans will be able to get alcohol later.
