There were other companies with new true wireless earbuds. The QuietComfort Earbuds II will be Bose's newest model. This set is an update to the first one the company released in 2020. The company has retooled the design, changed the fit and added some sound technology. The QuietComfort Earbuds II will be more expensive than their predecessors at launch.
Bose says that the next-gen buds are about a third smaller than the previous version. The first QuietComfort Earbuds were large and anything the company can do to make them smaller will be an improvement. Bose says that it has changed the fit of the earbuds with a fit kit. The ear tip now consists of two pieces, one with an oval-shaped tip and the other with a stability band. You can mix and match bases in three different sizes. The Bose app can be used to check for an adequate seal and detect leaks.
Bose calls the QuietComfort Earbuds II "custom tuning." The technology has been available on the company's SoundControl hearing aids, but in this case it's used to improve a bunch of core ear bud features. Bose says it's possible to measure the acoustic properties of your ear canal and tailor it to you. Every time you put the earbuds in, the process takes less than a second. The company says that the sound that reaches the eardrum is just as the artist intended. Bose says its noise-canceling tech is better at blocking human voices and crying babies. The ANC is keeping their focus on the task at hand.
The QuietComfort Earbuds II have a custom tuning feature. A feature called Active Sense can pick up any loud noise and apply the appropriate level of cancellation until it stops. Bose says the QC Earbuds II offer an ambient sound that is as natural and realistic as possible.
You should be able to use the QuietComfort Earbuds II during your workouts because they are IPX4 rated for sweat and water resistance. Bose claims that it has improved call quality thanks to the noise removal algorithm. You can get up to six hours of battery life with three more charges. Two hours of use will be provided by a quick-charge feature.
Pre-order the QuietComfort Earbuds II now and you will get them on September 15th. Bose plans to sell a "Soapstone" version of the device later this year.
