The new "deep purple" shade of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max was announced earlier today. I was curious as a purple lover. My day went downhill from there.

I'm confused because I've seen videos of this new "deep purple" in action and I'm not sure if it's that shade or not. A video posted by tech genius iJustine shows a variety of flowers in different colors.

There is an identity crisis with this Apple device.

I have a good taste as well. You can see that we're all squinting to see where Apple got "deep purple" from by scrolling through the quotes on the video.

One asked if he was being gaslit. This is not white. "I'm looking for the purple part?" asked another person. I too am a girl. It's me as well.

It would be better to call it "midnight violet" or "charcoal aubergine" I charge a reasonable fee. "space purple" is a better option.

We were more confused when we got the phone at Apple Park. Stan told us that it was quite subdued. It isn't yelling purple. It's pretty purple.

I wouldn't call it a ringing endorsement.

I color matched the official photos of the iPhone 14 Pro to make sure I wasn't seeing anything. Is it true that these colors are deep purple? I will let you make your own decision.

Two colors of purple, one light and grey-ish, the other very very close to charcoal.

Many people think the color is beautiful and couldn't wait to buy it, despite all the "Where's the purple?" comments on social media. I agree. The shade is beautiful.

It's not really deep purple.
