The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reported that students from four schools in West Virginia got to ride on an electric school bus for the first time yesterday.

Edward Toman said in a previous interview that it was very quiet.

The new bus is supposed to make it's entire morning route on one charge, and students at several schools got to ride it yesterday. According to the Telegraph, the bus would be charged during lunch to get ready for the afternoon route.

The school district may try to expand its electric fleet with federal dollars from the EPA after the test run is over. The bus will have to perform well in both the city and rural areas.

Coal Country

The bus is powered by coal and it sounds great.

The renewable energy transition has been slow in the state which is rich in fossil fuels.

Buses that run on gasoline are worse than electric buses that run on coal. We'll accept it if we're graded on a curve.
