A new robot called Clockwork claims to "liberate" people from the expensive and time-Consuming task of getting their nails done. According to Yahoo, Target-goers at six of the mega-chain's many US locations can get their nails done in under 10 minutes for just eight dollars.

The first robot manicure is on theClockwork website. There is no slip up. Slow down and don't stop. No discussion.

The device sounds really cool. It uses artificial intelligence and 3D scanning technology to determine the size and shape of a user's nails before painting and shaping them. Do you think it's ten minutes later? It is alleged that salon-quality nails are available.

The company told InStyle that their artificial intelligence can tell the robot what is skin and nail. The nozzle should move to deposit nailpolish in the right places after this is sent to our sophisticated algorithms.

The idea of who they call their "Athena Woman," a "trail blazing, time-pressed professional" who clearly doesn't have the space in her calendar to bother with lowly human manicurists, is part of the ethos of clockwork.

Convenience may come at a price. As of last year, there were nearly 400,000 nail technicians and over 56,000 individual salons in the industry.

The nails industry is very violent. Salon workers are exposed to a lot of toxins.

All those workers would be freed up from that environment. A new career is needed for a robot to help.

The nail industry is worth billions of dollars.
