Yormark isn't bashful about his expansion plan. He would like to go west.

The Big 12 would like to add members from the Pacific time zone, according to Yormark. The Big 12 is open for business according to the new commissioner.

"Obviously, going out west is where I would like to go," Yormark said.

The Big 12 wants a program that competes at the highest level in basketball and football and stands for the right things.

In the wake of the loss of USC and UCLA to the Big Ten, the Big 12's strategy to target potential Pac-12 members for expansion has caused a lot of tension between the leagues.

At his league's football media day, thePac-12 commissioner was asked about Yormark's "open for business" comment. We don't know if we're going to shop there or not.

"I've been spending four weeks trying to defend against grenades that have been thrown in from every corner of the Big 12 trying to undermine our conference," he said.

The media rights agreements of the Big 12 and the Pac-12 are set to expire in the next two decades. The Big 12 had an exclusive negotiating window with both media partners.

According to Yormark, he met with both Fox and Disney last week and will meet with Fox again next week.
