Don’t drop it! But if you do, it’s not the end of the world.

AppleCare Plus may have become a better deal if you are the kind of person who drops your phone frequently. The service now includes unlimited repairs for accidental damage protection. You used to be limited to two incidents of accidental damage protection per year.

If you get a screen or back glass repair, it will cost you $29, but if you get other accidental damage, you will have to pay $299. The damage has to be caused by unforeseen and accidental events to fall under AppleCare Plus.

Unlimited repairs aren’t just for the iPhone 14 — they’re for iPads, Macs, AirPods, and more

The price of the service is the same. That was a recurring theme during the event. The price of a brand-new iPhone 14 Pro will be the same as the price of an older one for two years. If you buy the two-year plan, you will pay an extra $30 a month for the Plus version of the phone.

The upgrade to the service isn't just for the Apple phones You can get it for the other Apple products, as well as the newer ones. If you accidentally send your AirPods through the wash, knock your iPad off the counter, or sit on your MacBook Pro, you'll be covered. I am not sure how you would break a device that is mostly just sitting around the house. I was unable to find a single example of the price going up, but AppleCare Plus for the Apple Watch Ultra costs a little more than it does for the Series 8.

When the iPhone 13 was first announced, Apple didn't say if people who had bought AppleCare Plus in the past would get unlimited repairs or be held to the twice a year limit.

Replacements for lost or stolen phones are limited to two per year if you get AppleCare Plus with theft and loss protection. If you lose your phone more than twice a year, you will be out of luck, not that you had much good fortune to begin with.
