Atlanta United and U.S. international defender Miles Robinson was arrested last Saturday on a charge of theft by taking.
Robinson was warned about criminal activity. After the incident, he was released on a bond.
Atlanta United said they are aware of a recent arrest. We will not have any further comment at this time because we are still gathering all the information.
The incident took place at a bar near the home of the Atlanta Braves.
Robinson refused to pay for the shot he took off of the drink tray. Management asked police to escort Robinson off the premises because he was a criminal.
Robinson was told that he could leave after paying for the drink. Robinson said, "All this over five dollars, bro."
There is a report according to it. Robinson said the bartender was being racist.
Robinson told the person that they wouldn't listen to him if they wanted to listen to the racist bartender. Robinson was told by the bartender that he took a shot and then walked away. Robinson said that the situation was because he was the only black man in the bar.
Detective Goduto told him that if he didn't pay his bill he would be charged with theft. All this was over five dollars. Robinson didn't say that he would pay the bill.
Robinson has been out of action for most of the current MLS season due to an injury that is almost certain to rule him out of the World Cup in November.
