Judge's 54th HR of the season ties A-Rod's record (0:50)

Alex Rodriguez's Yankees record for most homers in a season by a right-handed pitcher was tied by Judge with his 54th. It was0:50.

The New York Yankees are preparing for their contract negotiations with Judge, who is trying to become the all-time home run leader.

Randy Levine said in a recent interview that Judge is an all-time Yankee and that the franchise will be very competitive in its approach to keeping the most valuable player in pinstripes.

Levine said on the show that they know his worth and what he means. I'm not sure what he's thinking. We can't do much more than show him how much we want him to stay a yankee.

After declining the Yankees' seven-year, $213.5 million extension offer earlier this year, Judge is expected to land a more lucrative deal thanks to his potential record-setting 2022. In 131 games this season, the four-time All-Star has 54 home runs, which is the most in the majors.

Judge is on the verge of hitting 65 homers, four more than Roger Maris' American League record in 1961.

Levine thinks that Judge is an all-time Yankee. He's a great player. He's a good person. He was the highest position player in the history of the Yankees.

He went out and took this upon his shoulders and I admire him for that. We want him back and we value him.

Levine said during the interview that the Yankees want Judge to stay.

There's no issue about whether or not to bring back Judge. Levine made a statement. There is no problem with how much we value him. There is a negotiation. We will discuss with him and his representatives how to keep him. It's up to him to decide if he wants to stay here or go somewhere else. Someone is offering him a better deal.

Levine believes there is added value to playing for the Yankees regardless of what Judge gets from other teams.

Being a Yankee is important to Levine. A lot of other locations do not. Babe Ruth and Roger Maris both had home run chases.
