Jones will serve as a captain for the team in the year 2022. The center will be the second captain.

After working on sculpting his body and becoming more of a complete athlete in the off-season, the Alabama product enters his second season with high expectations.

Jones told reporters in May that he has learned more about nutrition, sleep, and other things this off-season than he has in the past. I took what I learned and applied it, and then I listened to Ted and everyone else and took out things that were bad for my diet.

Several teammates praised Jones for his development as a leader when he was in the locker room.
