You can watch the live launch of the communications satellite on Wednesday.
An Ariane 5 rocket carrying the Eutelsat Konnect VHTS satellite is scheduled to lift off from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana Wednesday at 6 pm. The sun rises at 2145GMT. You can watch it here at Space.com or via the French company which operates the Ariane 5.
The second launch of Ariane 5 and Arianespace will take place on Wednesday. If everything goes according to plan, Konnect VHTS will be sent to Eutelsat.
There is a history of rockets.
Arianespace representatives wrote in a mission description that Eutelsat Konnect VHTS is the biggest satellite ever built. The spaceship is about 29 feet tall and tips the scales at 7 tons.
Eutelsat Konnect VHTS will provide high-speed internet access throughout Europe, in particular in isolated regions with low coverage, offering a service comparable to fiber optical networks in terms of performance and cost.
They said that Eutelsat Konnect VHTS will address the needs of fixed and mobile telecommunications networks on land, sea or in the air.
The Ariane 5, which has more than 100 missions under its belt, is one of just a few left. The Ariane 6 will fly for the first time next year.
