Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that gas flows to Europe could be resumed tomorrow if the necessary equipment is available.

According to media reports from his speech at the Eastern Economic Forum, he blamed Germany and Western sanctions for the halt in operations for the project.

According to the state-owned energy giant, the full cutoff of gas flows is due to the turbine servicing company not responding to its requests.

Putin said that Russia is ready to start up the Nord Stream 2 line if it gets the right equipment.

Russia has stopped the flow of natural gas to Europe in the last few months as relations have deteriorated over the country's invasion of Ukraine.

The flow of natural gas from Russia to Germany was cut in July.

On Friday, the company said it would not resume exports because of an oil leak.

According to the Russian leader, Poland and Ukraine decided to stop using other gas routes.

European natural gas prices have skyrocketed this year, putting pressure on the economy. Natural gas gave the European Union 25% of its energy in 2020.
