When she and Prince Harry announced their engagement, she faced a gendered reaction.

The duchess told Kaling that everyone was like, "Oh, my gosh, you're so lucky he chose you."

There was a wedding at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The photo was taken at the WPA pool.

After hearing it a million times, she said she chose him as well.

Thankfully, my partner countered that narrative for me and said, 'They have it all wrong.' She said that she was the lucky one because she had been chosen.

It is stereotyped that you're so lucky. It feeds into the idea that you have to wait for someone to tell you that you are good enough on your own.

The interview began with a description of a project she was given on marriage at her private Catholic school.

When she was a student at her all-female school, the duchess planned her wedding as part of an assignment.

The royal said that she wanted her wedding to be at the Bel-Air Hotel and that she chose a dress that was too poofy.

She said that she was struck by the fact that the project was graded at all. This project existed. Is it possible to say that your dream for the future is to be single?

At my feminist all-girls school, the message was the same as always.

Tuesday is the third episode of her new show, which is part of a major deal between Archewell Audio and the streaming service. The duchess has been interviewing her friends.

Next week, the royal will talk with Margaret Cho and Lisa Ling.
