Bill Barr, who was the US Attorney General at the time, laughed off Donald Trump's accusation that he was a RINO, or Republican In Name Only. Barr was responding to a rant Trump posted on Truth Social on Friday in which the former president said he had no guts and was afraid of being impeached. During an interview with Martha MacCallum on Tuesday, Barr said that anyone who disagreed with him about the election was a RINO for him.
When he was a child, he passed out fliers supporting Barry Goldwater, the Arizona senator who was known as one of the forefathers of the modern conservative movement.
He handed out Barry Goldwater literature when he was a teenager on the Upper West Side.

After the 2020 election, the former attorney general butted heads with the former president in public and private comments, even though he was once a strong supporter of Trump.
In his testimony, Barr said that Trump had become detached from reality and that his stolen elections claims were a lie.
He has repeated his stance in many interviews.
The Justice Department's investigation into Trump's handling of classified White House documents has been defended by Barr.
When Trump and Republican allies called the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago home "politically motivated," the former attorney general said the attacks on federal agents were "misplaced."
In an interview with MacCallum, Barr said he believed the approval of Trump's request for a court-appointed party to review the documents was incorrect. He told The New York Times that Trump's request was a mess.
The former president has accused many people of being RINO.
The insult was thrown at Kemp and the state's secretary by Trump. The former president referred to Republicans who voted to impeach him as insurrectionists.
