Google Pixel 6 Pro getting an Android update

  • Google has begun rolling out the September Update for Pixel smartphones.
  • The update includes several bug fixes addressing battery drain, biometrics, and more.
  • The Pixel 6a will receive the update later this month.

After the holiday weekend, the September Update rolled out to the phones, bringing a few bug fixes and new features.

The update is available for almost all of the Pixel phones, but the 6a is not. It seems that 6a owners will have to wait until later this month to get their update, as was the case for the previous flagships.

There are a few bug fixes in the September Update that users will appreciate.

It should be noted that the problem with the 6a's fingerprints is exclusive to the device and appears to have been fixed before it was released. Some users have been able to use fingerprints that were not registered with the device to gain access to the device. It's a problem that we hoped would be fixed sooner rather than later, but our units haven't experienced it.

It is good to know that the 6a fix is on the way. The software version should be bumped to TP1A. 220905.004 for everyone else and will be released over the next week.
