Meta's annual virtual reality conference, Connect, will take place on October 11.

In an announcement post on Facebook, it appears that the man is wearing a new headset called Project Cambria.

The product and how it is received will be a key test of whether or not Facebook will be able to create virtual reality and augmented reality hardware. One of the reasons the technology hasn't taken off is that the hardware isn't good enough.

The timing of the product's release will allow Meta to gain a foothold in the market before Apple releases a competitive mixed reality headset of its own.

In an interview with Joe Rogan, the company's CEO said that the project would be released in the autumn. The computing power of the headset will allow it to capture the real world with external cameras and display them inside the headset in real time and in color.

The headset will be more expensive and capable than the current best-selling headset, the Meta Quest 2.

The conference is expected to go on for an entire day. It will be available on the internet.

The metaverse social networking app that has drawn mockery for its cartoonish graphics will be discussed by Meta. The vice president in charge of the company is leaving.

In August, the founder of Facebook said that the graphics in the program are capable of much more.

Virtual reality and augmented reality prototypes are being developed by Meta. The technology will be used in a pair of glasses that can replace a user's phone.
