On October 1st, the head of Sony's hardware will retire. The man who led the engineering for the PS4 and PS5 is retiring and will be replaced by a new person. The changes were announced in a short press release.

Ito joined Sony in 1986 and worked his way up to the position of head of hardware engineering. As of March, the lifetime sales of the PS4 console were over 11 million. Last year, the PS4 sold more games than any other console.

Ito was responsible for the creation of the PS4 Pro and PS5 consoles. The PS5 was designed and developed by Ito and his team for five years. Sony focused on reducing noise levels and improving cooling capacity in the PS5 as part of the development process, according to Ito.

Sony favored a well thought out architecture inside the PS5.

The PS5 is the biggest game console of all time, but Sony has reduced its weight in recent revisions. The weight of the PS5 has been reduced from the original launch model. Sony raised the price of its PS5 consoles outside the US. In the UK, Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, and Canada, the price of the PS5 has been increased. In Europe, Japan, and the UK, prices are going up by 10%, 21 percent, and 6 percent, respectively.

Ito will no longer be in charge of future hardware generations. The PS3 was released in 2006 and the PS4 and PS5 were released seven years later. It took Sony five years to plan and design the PS5 if the seven year pattern continues for the next-gen PS.
