Diego Costa's move to Wolves has hit a roadblock after the Spanish player was denied a work permit.

Wolves were hoping to sign the veteran in time for Saturday's game at Liverpool, but he won't be available due to an injured knee.

Even though he was offered a contract, there were reports that the club was concerned about his ability to get a work permit since he hasn't played a professional match in a year.

Wolves are hoping to have the original decision overturned. Within 48 hours, they will have a final answer.

He hasn't found a club despite being linked with another Brazilian side. He was close to signing a deal with Rayo.
