Two men, including a Raley's executive and the supermarket company's pilot, died when their twin-engine plane crashed near Galt less than 20 minutes after taking off.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, there was a crash at an apple grove in Galt.

The crash was reported by the sheriff's office at 8:54 a.m.

The caller said that they heard a loud noise when the plane went down.

The Cosumnes Fire Department and the sheriff's office were called to the scene. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the aircraft in a private area.

The two men were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to a spokeswoman for Raley's, Mueller was the company's CFO and Conte was its pilot.

Minor said that the organization was deeply sad and devastated. We are focused on helping their families, friends and colleagues.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the FAA and the safety board.

Attempts to get in touch with the airport were unsuccessful.
