Nick Belsito, CEO of food tech startup OpenCity, told restaurant operators at food conferences that their eyes would glaze over when he talked about his company's artificial intelligence software.

OpenCity used artificial intelligence to automate restaurant reservations.

People looked at me like I was E.T. when I mentioned A.I. before the epidemic. Belsito spoke.

When indoor dining was shut down at the start of the 2020 epidemic, the need for reservations was eliminated. Belsito changed Open City's business model.

The startup uses an artificial intelligence-powered bot to automate orders at the drive-through.

The Boston-based startup is getting a boost from the adoption of the girl. OpenCity's artificial intelligence technology is being tested at two upstate New York restaurants. Popeyes' franchise restaurant in Louisiana started piloting a new character in late April.

According to Belsito, OpenCity is taking advantage of a unique space with room to improve order accuracy and sales at the drive-through.

He said that this technology is vital to the future of restaurants.

The owner of the Popeyes restaurant in Louisiana said his company has seen good results so far. The speed of service has increased.

The restaurant's drink sales have gone up by 150% because of the automatic upsells.

The attention of the bakery was captured by those statistics.

Raj Anbalagan, senior vice president of digital and technology innovation, believes that automation will elevate the guest experience by improving accuracy and speed.

There are many ways to do it. Anbalagan told Insider that they felt they could test to see if there is a true unlock.

Anbalagan has been trying to push innovation for a long time. He helped launch digital ordering at the chain by adding kiosks in the dining room and through the chain's app.

The tech stack is built in-house by the company.

He told Insider that it was better to leverage OpenCity's tech instead of investing and building on our own.

Anbalagan said he was looking to improve the speed of service.

He hopes that the Experiential aspect of the show will light our guest.

"Tori has been a real game-changer for the restaurant," said Damato.

The guests are having fun, and I was surprised at how quickly they learned the Louisiana accent. It reduces workplace stress since our team members can focus on serving the guest faster and not worry about taking orders.

Hundreds of restaurants in the US are using artificial intelligence to take phone and drive-up orders. OpenCity rivals are being used by some.

Belsito said that Covid has changed the way restaurants think about technology.

There has been a huge change. There has been a change in the guard. Belsito said that technology can be their friend.

In about eight states, OpenCity works with five different brands. The backers include the two companies that are included in the photo.

Belsito said he expects to be in thousands of restaurants.
