Cowboys News: KaVontae Turpin Seen as a WR, Will 'Play a Role,' per OC Kellen Moore

Turpin is a kick returner for the Cowboys.

It's been great to see him become a receiver. He is going to be able to play a part.

Turpin scored on a 98-yard kick return and an 86-yard punt return in a preseason game.

He said that he had the heart of a lion. I am just trying to use my speed and ability that God gave me.

He could be one of the best returners in the league during his first season because of that speed. It could help him impact the game in other ways if he lines up outside.

Turpin joined the Fan Controlled Football league and the European League of Football after being cut by the Cowboys in the middle of the season. He earned an opportunity with the Cowboys after winning the league's Most Valuable Player award.

He did enough in the preseason to get a chance at a position that could use more depth.

Cooper is on the Cleveland Browns, Wilson is on the Miami Dolphins, and Gallup is on the Indianapolis Colts. There is room for other players, such as Turpin, to play at wide receiver.

Fans should expect him to do that during the opening game of the season.
