Tiffany Haddish expressed regret Monday for participating in a comedy skit in which she allegedly forced a 7-year-old child to perform sexually suggestive acts, after she and another comedian were sued for sex abuse against the child and his sister.
Haddish regretted agreeing to act in the sketch, which was titled " Through a Pedophile's Eyes."
The comedian said that the sketch was meant to be comical, but it wasn't funny at all.
In the video, which was uploaded to the site, the child is seen in his underwear as Spears, playing a pedophile, leers at him and massages his back, along with other sexually suggestive acts.
Haddish and Spears are accused of showing Jane Doe how to give fellatio in a video in which Haddish directed her to do it.
The siblings and their mother have suffered significant ongoing trauma as a result of the incidents, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was called afrivolous action by Haddish's attorney who argued that the mother had been trying to make false claims against her for years.
People have a lot of questions I'm aware of it. On Monday, Haddish wrote on social media that she looked forward to sharing more about the situation as soon as possible.
Haddish and Spears are facing allegations of sexual battery, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse of a minor. Haddish is accused of negligent supervision, failure to warn, and fiduciary duty. The Los Angeles County District Attorney has been asked to immediately arrest and prosecute the two comedians, according to a letter reported by the DailyBeast Monday. The police report was transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department after being filed in Las Vegas.
According to the lawsuit, Haddish was a longtime family friend of the mother, and she asked Jane Doe to participate in a commercial after she spoke at a camp the then-teenager was at. The child called his mother crying from the video shoot and said he didn't want to film anymore after Haddish pitched it as a sizzle reel. In a statement included in the complaint, John Doe said that he didn't go anywhere because he didn't like the sketch and that he spent all of his time in his room. Spears denied the claims against him but agreed to stop the distribution of the comedy video, according to the Daily Beast. The siblings were allowed to bring additional legal claims despite the fact that the settlement did not include Haddish. The video was uploaded by user-generated content, not FunnyOrDie. The video was immediately removed from the website after it was discovered.
