It works with all of your important apps, it tracks a robust suite of health and fitness metrics, and it integrates easily with other Apple devices. It comes in many beautiful colors.

It was late to the game. There's no problem. You might be wondering how to use your new wrist accessory if you just ordered your midrange SE or Series 7 ahead of the Series 8. You need to set up your Apple watch.

If you bought an Apple Watch, it's important that it runs the latest version of the software. You can find out what version you are on by tapping on the software update icon. You can see if you have an update waiting for you. Any Apple watch should work with the newer iPhones. You need to make sure that you are connected to the internet via wi-fi.

Press and hold the flat side button to turn on your watch. There will be a logo. You'll be told to use your phone to set up your watch. You can either set up the watch for yourself or for a family member. If you want to restore your settings from an old Apple Watch or if you want to set up a new Apple Watch, you will be asked.

If you want to create a PIN or sign in with your Apple ID, you'll be asked by the watch. You can skip either of these if you have an Apple ID, but you will need a PIN to use Apple Pay. You can always do this at a later time if you skip these steps. It's possible to pick your apps later. When you are ready to go, wait for your watch to work.

There is a way to use the Apple watch.

It's on. That's good! There is a red dot at the top of your timepiece. Someone has sent you a text. Check your notifications by sliding down. The Control Center is where you can check battery life, and you can also click on Airplane Mode and the Water Lock button if you want to stay out of the water.

To view your apps, press the digital crown on the right side of the watch. If you press and hold it, you can say hello to the virtual assistant. If you want to send an emergency alert or power off your watch, press the side button.

Once you figure out how to use the Apple Watch, you probably want to change it. You can add a new face to your watch by touching and holding the default watch face.

Third-party watch faces are not allowed by Apple. There are many options to choose from, and you can add third-party options as well. The way to maximize the display size is by squeezing clock numbers up the side of the screen. The Portrait face is my favorite way to see the Series 7.

It's easier to change your watch face in the Watch app on your phone than it is from the watch. The face gallery is at the bottom of the page. Pick your portraits and photos. People will be the focus of the photos. The date and time will look out from behind the subject's head or around their faces. The date or time is one of the possibilities you can choose. Click Set as Current Watch Face if you want to arrange it your way.
