According to a report, the Baltimore Ravens have made a new proposal to Lamar Jackson.

An improved contract offer has been made by the Ravens.

If no deal is reached by the start of the regular season, Jackson will not negotiate with the Ravens again.

The contract status of the league's Most Valuable Player has been one of the biggest topics leading up to the first week of the season. New deals have been signed by several quarterbacks this winter.

Rodgers' three-year extension with the Packers made him the highest-paid quarterback in the country. The richest fully guaranteed deal in the history of the NFL was signed by Deshaun Watson.

Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson have signed extensions that aren't fully guaranteed, despite the fact that there was some thought that Deshaun's contract would change how quarterbacks negotiate deals.

The Ravens didn't want to do a fully guaranteed contract for Jackson, so they offered him a deal worth more than Murray got from the Arizona Cards.

Jackson denied that the Ravens had offered him $250 million.

No they didn’t

It is not clear what the Ravens have offered Jackson. He will make $23 million in the last season of his contract.

If the Ravens can't work out a deal with Jackson, they can use the franchise tag. It's probably not the situation either side wants to find themselves in, but it could end up being the next step in the process.

Over the last four years, Jackson has a 37-12 record. He has thrown for 9,967 yards, run for 3,663 yards and accounted for 105 touchdown in 58 career games.

The New York Jets will play the Ravens on Sunday in the first game of the year.
